ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܝܢ ܢܫܐ ܐܫܬܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܒܥܠܝܟܝܢ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܛܦܝܣܝܢ ܠܡܠܬܐ ܒܕܘܒܪܝܟܝܢ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܕܠܐ ܥܡܠܐ ܬܩܢܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn thqnyn eml' dl' shpyr' bdwbrykyn lmlth' mthTpysyn dl' d'ylyn lbelykyn 'shthebdyn nsh' 'nthyn 'p hkn'
In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word;

ܟܕ ܚܙܝܢ ܕܒܕܚܠܬܐ ܘܒܢܟܦܘܬܐ ܡܬܕܒܪܢ ܐܢܬܝܢ

seeing your pure behavior in fear.

ܘܠܐ ܬܨܛܒܬܢ ܒܨܒܬܐ ܒܪܝܐ ܕܓܕܘܠܐ ܕܣܥܪܝܟܝܢ ܐܘ ܕܚܫܠܬܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܐܘ ܕܠܒܘܫܐ ܡܝܬܪܐ
mythr' dlbwsh' 'w ddhb' dkhshlth' 'w dserykyn dgdwl' bry' btsbth' thtsTbthn wl'
Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;

ܐܠܐ ܐܨܛܒܬܝܢ ܒܒܪܢܫܐ ܟܣܝܐ ܕܠܒܐ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܡܟܝܟܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܚܒܠܐ ܨܒܬܐ ܕܡܝܬܪ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' qdm dmythr tsbth' mthkhbl' dl' mkykth' brwkh' dlb' ksy' bbrnsh' 'tsTbthyn 'l'
but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.

ܗܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܦ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܢܫܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܣܒܪܢ ܗܘܝ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܡܨܒܬܢ ܗܘܝ ܢܦܫܬܗܝܢ ܘܡܫܬܥܒܕܢ ܗܘܝ ܠܒܥܠܝܗܝܢ
lbelyhyn hwy wmshthebdn npshthhyn hwy mtsbthn b'lh' hwy dmsbrn 'ylyn qdyshth' nsh' qdym mn 'p gyr hkn'
For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܣܪܐ ܡܫܬܥܒܕܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܐܒܪܗܡ ܘܩܪܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܗ ܡܪܝ ܗܝ ܕܗܘܝܢ ܐܢܬܝܢ ܠܗ ܒܢܬܐ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ ܟܕ ܠܐ ܡܬܬܙܝܥܢ ܐܢܬܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܕܚܠܐ

as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.

ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܥܡܪܘ ܥܡ ܢܫܝܟܘܢ ܒܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܠܡܐܢܐ ܡܚܝܠܐ ܒܐܝܩܪܐ ܐܚܘܕܘ ܐܢܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܦ ܗܢܝܢ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܝܪܬܢ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܕܠܐ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܬܬܩܠܝܢ ܒܨܠܘܬܟܘܢ
btslwthkwn mththqlyn thhwwn dl' dlelm dkhy' mwhbth' yrthn emkwn hnyn d'p mTl 'nyn 'khwdw b'yqr' mkhyl' dlm'n' w'yk bydeth' nshykwn em emrw hkn' gbr' w'nthwn
You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.

ܫܘܠܡܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܗܘܘܢ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܒܐܘܝܘܬܐ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܚܫܝܢ ܥܡ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܫܝܢ ܘܪܚܡܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܪܚܡܬܢܝܢ ܘܡܟܝܟܝܢ
wmkykyn rkhmthnyn whwythwn lkhd khd wrkhmyn dkhshyn 'ylyn em khshyn whwythwn b'wywth' klkwn dthhwwn dyn shwlm'
Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tender hearted, courteous,

ܘܠܐܢܫ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܦܪܥܘܢ ܘܐܦܠܐ ܨܘܚܝܬܐ ܚܠܦ ܨܘܚܝܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܠܩܘܒܠܐ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܒܪܟܝܢ ܠܗܕܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܕܒܘܪܟܬܐ ܬܐܪܬܘܢ
th'rthwn dbwrkth' 'thqrythwn gyr lhd' mbrkyn hwythwn dhlyn dlqwbl' 'l' tswkhyth' khlp tswkhyth' w'pl' thprewn l' byshth' khlp byshth' wl'nsh
not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

ܡܢ ܕܨܒܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܚܝܐ ܘܪܚܡ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܛܒܐ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܢܛܪ ܠܫܢܗ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܣܦܘܬܗ ܠܐ ܢܡܠܠܢ ܢܟܠܐ
nkl' nmlln l' wspwthh byshth' mn lshnh nTr lmkhz' Tb' ywmth' wrkhm khy' hkyl dtsb' mn
For,
“He who would love life,
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil,
and his lips from speaking deceit.

ܢܥܒܪ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܢܥܒܕ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܢܒܥܐ ܫܠܡܐ ܘܢܪܗܛ ܒܬܪܗ
bthrh wnrhT shlm' wnbe' Tbth' wnebd byshth' mn nebr
Let him turn away from evil, and do good.
Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

ܡܛܠ ܕܥܝܢܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܐܕܢܘܗܝ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܦܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܫܐ
bysh' el dmry' w'pwhy 'nwn lmshme w'dnwhy zdyq' el dmry' deynwhy mTl
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears open to their prayer;
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

ܘܡܢܘ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܐܢ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܛܢܢܐ ܕܛܒܬܐ
dTbth' Tnn' thhwwn 'n byshth' lkwn dnebd wmnw
Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good?

ܘܐܢ ܗܘ ܕܬܚܫܘܢ ܥܠ ܐܦܝ ܟܐܢܘܬܐ ܛܘܒܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܕܚܠܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܬܓܫܘܢ
thshthgshwn wl' lkwn dmdkhlyn 'ylyn mn thdkhlwn wl' Twbykwn k'nwth' 'py el dthkhshwn hw w'n
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

ܐܠܐ ܩܕܫܘ ܒܠܒܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܛܝܒܝܢ ܠܡܦܩ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܠܟܠ ܕܬܒܥ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܥܠ ܣܒܪܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܒܡܟܝܟܘܬܐ ܘܒܕܚܠܬܐ
wbdkhlth' bmkykwth' dhymnwthkwn sbr' el mlth' lkwn dthbe lkl brwkh' lmpq mTybyn whwythwn mshykh' lmry' blbwthkwn qdshw 'l'
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:

ܟܕ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܬܐܪܬܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܠ ܐܢܫܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܢܒܗܬܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܛܠܡܝܢ ܠܕܘܒܪܝܟܘܢ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܕܒܡܫܝܚܐ
dbmshykh' shpyr' ldwbrykwn dTlmyn 'nsh' 'yk nbhthwn bysh' 'nsh' del 'yk elykwn dmmllyn dhnwn 'ykn' Tbth' th'rth' lkwn 'yth kd
having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

ܥܕܪܐ ܗܝ ܠܟܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܟܕ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ ܬܣܒܠܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܐܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐ ܟܕ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' 'nthwn ebdyn kd wl' d'lh' tsbyn' hw hkn' 'n byshth' thsblwn Tb' ebd' 'nthwn ebdyn dkd gyr lkwn hy edr'
For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܦ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܡܝܬ ܚܠܦ ܚܛܗܝܢ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܚܠܦ ܚܛܝܐ ܕܢܩܪܒܟܘܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܡܝܬ ܒܦܓܪ ܘܚܝܐ ܒܪܘܚ
brwkh wkhy' bpgr wmyth l'lh' dnqrbkwn khTy' khlp zdyq' khThyn khlp myth zbn khd' mshykh' d'p mTl
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

ܘܐܟܪܙ ܠܢܦܫܬܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܚܝܕܢ ܗܘܝ ܒܫܝܘܠ
bshywl hwy d'khydn 'ylyn lnpshth' w'krz
in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,

ܗܠܝܢ ܕܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܠܐ ܐܬܛܦܝܣ ܗܘܝ ܒܝܘܡܬܗ ܕܢܘܚ ܟܕ ܡܓܪܬ ܪܘܚܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܦܩܕܬ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܩܒܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܣܒܪܐ ܕܬܝܒܘܬܗܘܢ ܘܬܡܢܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܢܦܫܢ ܥܠܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܚܝܝ ܒܡܝܐ
bmy' wkhyy lh elyn npshn blkhwd wthmn' dthybwthhwn sbr' el qbwth' dthhw' pqdth d'lh' rwkhh mgrth kd dnwkh bywmthh hwy 'thTpys l' qdym dmn hlyn
who before were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

ܕܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗ ܒܗܘ ܛܘܦܣܐ ܚܝܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܠܘ ܟܕ ܦܓܪܐ ܡܫܝܓܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܨܐܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܟܕ ܡܘܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܒܬܐܪܬܐ ܕܟܝܬܐ ܘܒܩܝܡܬܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
mshykh' dyshwe wbqymthh dkyth' bth'rth' b'lh' 'nthwn mwdyn kd 'l' ts'th' mn 'nthwn mshygyn pgr' kd lw bmemwdyth' 'nthwn khyyn Twps' bhw bh 'nthwn d'p
This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
